Aunt Leah’s House

Aunt Leah’s House is for

  • Pregnant/parenting teens (with priority given to Aboriginal teens)
  • Teen moms under 19 years of age who have custody of their baby and are presently in the care of the Ministry of Children and Family Development

Through Aunt Leah’s House, participants connect with many community programs and resources, including:

  • Daily programming to develop parenting skills
  • Access to an outreach worker
  • Aboriginal Infant Development Program (AIDP)
  • Cultural teachings
  • Nipissing District Developmental Screen (NDDS) – a tool to monitor your baby’s development
  • Life skills assessment – helping Moms with their preparedness to successfully parent and live independently with their babies
