What is Aunt Leah’s Social Enterprise Employment Training Program?

Aunt Leah’s Social Enterprise Employment Training Program is designed to reflect the requirements of retail and supply chain employers. It is intended to be a transformative experience. It will challenge you, delight you, and we hope will push you to seek out a meaningful career. Throughout your program, you will work in ways that will mirror what you will find in real workplaces. When you complete your program, you will have acquired skills and experience that will enable you to confidently apply for jobs and begin working.

After this course, participants will have the ability to:

  • Write a resume and cover letter
  • Practice self leadership
  • Obtain an entry level position in supply chain/retail careers
  • Contribute to a positive working environment.
  • Apply critical thinking skills
  • Set goals and strive for growth and improvement.
  • Be organized and prioritize tasks
  • Understand how to resolve conflict in a solution-oriented way
  • Provide excellent customer service and apply sales techniques
  • Handle cash at Point of Sale and manage retail software
  • Apply fashion and styling concepts to product selection and store displays.
  • Manage online store sales fulfillment, Shopify inventory system, and product management.
  • Understand operations and inventory management at Aunt Leah’s Donation Centre
  • Understand and comply with health and safety expectations and maintain a safe workplace.
