  • You’ll tackle unique challenges - Not two days are the same and each participant has their unique story but you have what it gets and will be given the support and resources to do the best. You’ll play a role in creating a future that otherwise wouldn’t exist if it wasn’t for our team's entrepreneurial spirit and creativity.
  • Your professional development matters - Constant learning is essential and we also like to learn together. Once a month, we all get together to participate in meaningful workshops and discussions that enhance our ability to serve our participants and our community in a better way. We also invest in your individual education and training.
  • You will be part of one of the Top 10 Impact Charities in Canada - Aunt Leah's Place has been selected as a top 10 Impact Charity, by Charity Intelligence for three years in a row. We are the only one in B.C. with this designation.
  • You will feel like you are working with family - Our participants and staff frequently comment that Aunt Leah's feels like a family. We embrace individuality, diversity, and care for each other.
  • You’ll become part of a greater mission - The overrepresentation of BIPOC people in the child-welfare system in Canada is a result of years of colonial practices. We are on a mission to change the system and reduce the number of kids who enter the foster care system. Aunt Leah's uses research, data, and stories of lived experiences to understand the challenges before us. We advocate and partner with other root grass organizations to build innovative solutions, raise awareness, and drive much needed systemic changes.
  • We've got great leaders - Our leadership team rolls their sleeves up,  lead by example, openly recognize individual contributions and fully understand that we are humans with unique strengths and challenges. Their combined experience, sense of humour, and development skills, make it really easy to get up and go to work every day.
