Building a brighter future for foster kids for over 30 years

Our Mission

This year we’ve supported
over 400 youth, moms and children.

Aunt Leah’s place helps prevent children in foster care from becoming homeless and mothers in need from losing custody of their children. To support them on their journey to self-sufficiency, we provide supported housing, job training and coaching on essential life skills.

Aunt Leah’s was evaluated by Charity Intelligence as one of the Top 10 Impact Charities delivering returns of 6 times for every dollar donated.

Ways to get involved with Aunt Leah’s

Your generous support helps us maintain our innovative programming and creates a place where children connected to the foster care system have equal opportunities to those of parented youth. Donate and help change the lives of foster youth across Metro Vancouver.

Volunteers are critical to the success of our programs and to the lives of the young people we serve. Learn how you can get involved in one of our events, fundraisers or social enterprises.

Attend Our Events

Events are not only another important source of revenue for Aunt Leah’s programs, but these occasions help us to raise awareness, influence public policy and develop meaningful community partnerships.

Support Our Thrift Store

Aunt Leah’s Thrift store, located in Vancouver, features quality “pre-loved”/gently used clothing and accessories. We also carry a variety of small furniture and household items. Online shopping is also available. Donations are used to furnish the homes and closets of youth and mothers in need, while profits are used to support our programs.

Our Impact in 2020-2021

We believe every individual deserves to feel safe, cared for, and have a sense of belonging.

Moving into Aunt Leah’s laneway house came at the right time since I was giving birth to my second child. It has been nice to have my own space where my children can have their own room, bathroom, and patio. I like having the support of the staff, as well as being able to connect with other moms. Most of all, I like that I have my independence in a home where my children can play and be safe. Thank you for the opportunity.
