Aunt Leah's Thresholds Residential program is a supportive housing and
lifeskills program for moms who are working on establishing a positive
community for themselves and their young child.

Participants
Of The Thresholds Residential Program Will Receive:
- Safe,
affordable housing in 2 stages; 1st stage- 6-9 months in a communal house
with other women and their children. The house is fully furnished to meet
the household needs of each mother. 2nd stage- 6-9 months in a semi-independent
furnished basement suite.
- Each
suite has a friendly landlord to watch over the home & its' safety
- A
Support Worker who is a qualified Doula to assist with lifeskills development,
post-natal education, advocacy and basic support (assistance with time management,
budgeting, obtaining ID, housing information, referrals). The Support Worker's
goal is to establish a trusting and truthful relationship with each mom
which can then be used as a spring board for our moms to create a positive
community of her own.
- Weekly
workshops on tenancy and income assistance rights, banking, job interview
skills, resume writing, health and nutrition, parenting, time management,
budgeting, Safer Sex, self advocacy, personal development and many more.

Upon
Completion Of The Program, Participants Will Have:
- Ongoing
access to a resource room
- Lifeskills
training
- Support
with securing safe and affordable housing
- Access
to our outreach programs such as Aunt Leah's Community Kitchen and Community
meals
- Education
that focuses on empowerment through self-care and self advocacy
- Celebrated
many milestones of motherhood

Women
Who Are Interested In The Thresholds Program Should:
- Have their child(ren)
in their care by the time they move into the Thresholds Program
- Be willing to abide
by program guidelines & expectations regarding curfew, visiting
hours etc.
- Have basic lifeskills
for living independently
- Be attending or willing
to attend workshops and/or a community day program of 12-20 hours
per week
- Have no current criminal
involvement
- If drugs & alcohol
are an issue, currently working on a drug and alcohol free life
- Have a willingness
to meet with a one-to-one support worker twice weekly
