The Retail Training Program is a 20 week program for youth (ages 13-18) and adults (19+). Students must commit to 3 hours of work experience each week and attend the scheduled certificate programs. The work experience certificate programs provide participants with personal management skills and other employment related lifeskills through personal assessment, discussion and a proactive evaluation approach. This program offers nationally and provincially recognized accreditation and training. The practical work experience teaches students the primary skills required to work in retail businesses. Students will learn customer service skills, display setting and inventory control. Students graduate from the program with a Retail Training Certificate, a realistic view of the work force, and a work experience reference. Students are also offered assistance with job searching and placements. A certificate of graduation is awarded to students who successfully complete each certificate program and show competency in all aspects of the practical training.
