The program is designed to provide trainees with basic landscaping skills as well as to build up their physical strength, stamina and abilities so they will be ready for employment in the landscaping industry.
Landscape Maintenance Program
The Landscape Maintenance Program offers the opportunity for youth to learn job skills with an experienced landscaper and through a disposal service, learn how to re-direct and recycle items that may otherwise go to the landfill. Youth trainees are able to use this experience when drafting their resumes and also obtain a letter of reference. This program is currently only open to youth in our Support Link and Aunt Leah's House programs
This program is available to:
- Teens who are currently enrolled in our programs (including new moms) or
- Past participants of Aunt Leah's Housing Programs
Trainees in Aunt Leah's Landscaping Program learn a wide variety of skills including:
- Customer service
- Lawn maintenance
- Garden clean-up
- Operation and care of landscaping equipment

Once they enroll in the program, participants work with a support worker to develop their own individual service plan based on their own abilities. They identify their strengths and then use this knowledge to set goals for themselves and what they need to do to help keep themselves on track.
Trainees also receive:
- Daily performance evaluations and feedback
- Training allowance
