Housing

Aunt Leah’s provides supported housing for teens, pregnant/parenting girls in foster care and homeless new moms and their babies. We also help youth who have “aged out” of care find housing.

Aunt Leah's House

Aunt Leah’s House provides supported housing for pregnant and parenting teen moms under the age of 19 who are in the care of the Ministry. Moms live in a warm, home-like and supported setting throughout pregnancy and delivery, and can stay up to six months after the baby is born. Priority is given to aboriginal moms.

Thresholds

The Thresholds program provides new moms who are at risk of losing their babies to the foster care system with supported housing and help learning how to care for your baby. This program works closely with BC Women’s Hospital and its Fir Square Ward – a pre- and post-natal care ward for new moms recovering from alcohol and drug addiction, though moms outside the jurisdiction of Fir Square can apply as well.

Support Link Program

The Support Link Program provides supported housing for teens 15 – 18 years of age, who are presently in the care of the Ministry for Children and Family Development and are preparing to live on their own. We provide them with a basement suite with a supportive landlord well as pre-employment and essential skills training.
