Aunt Leah's Society is hiring for the position of Development Manager to begin September 1st, 2012. Key duties and responsibilities include grant- writing and oversight of the organization's Thrift Store and Christmas Tree Lots to ensure business plans are followed and increased revenues are generated. Successful applicants will have a recognized degree in Business Administration, Development or related field and 2 to 3 years of experience in a business management or development role. Applicants must be proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel and have excellent writing skills. Proven experience writing successful grant applications an asset. Experience with social enterprise development and/or management in a non-profit setting also an asset but not required. Applicants must be willing to undergo a criminal background check. This position is part-time 22.5 his, 3 days per week. Aunt Leah's Society is hiring for the position of Human Resources Manager to begin April 15th, 2012. Key duties and responsibilities include managing the recruitment process, assisting with the creation, maintenance and compliance of Human Resource policies and procedures, oversee the recruitment and management of volunteers, coordinate the performance management system and provide feedback to management regarding any issues, benefits administration and tracking of employee sick days and vacation, working with the Financial Manager to ensure payroll is accurate, keeping up to date with current Human Resources trends and Employment Standards and make recommendations for changes to policies and procedures. Successful applicants will have a recognized degree or diploma in Human Resource Management or related field, and two to three years experience in a Human Resources role. Additionally, applicants must have an understanding of Employment Standards and Workplace Safety Regulations. Knowledge of employment laws and practices an asset. Applicants must be proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience in public/non-profit organizations an asset but not required. Aunt Leah's Society is hiring for the position of Financial Manager to oversee all aspects of the financial operations of the organization. Key duties and responsibilities include accounts payable and receivable, petty cash and bank reconciliation, payroll administration, charitable tax receipting, oversight and tracking of all revenues, generating financial statements, financial analysis and reporting, and preparation for annual external audits. Successful applicants will have a 2" `i/3r1 level CGA/CMA designation and two to three years experience in an accounting or financial management role. Applicants must be proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel and have experience using Quickbooks or other computerized accounting software. Experience in public/non-profit accounting, knowledge of Canada Revenue payroll requirements and charitable tax receipting guidelines are assets but not required. Applicants must be willing to undergo a criminal background check. This position is part-time, 22.5 hrs per week, Monday through Friday. Aunt Leah’s Society is hiring for the position of Relief Residential Support Worker to cover shifts in a residence for teen mothers and their babies. Applicants must have post secondary education in the social service sector with a minimum of one-year experience providing support to moms and babies. Applicants must also have a valid First Aid Certificate prior to hiring. Shifts are 12.5 hours and applicants must be available to work overnight awake shifts.
