Who We Help

In BC, when a child in care turns 19, their government support is cut-off and they are deemed "aged-out" of the system. Today, almost half of these vulnerable teens end-up homeless. Aunt Leah's is there to help support these kids make a successful transition to independence and adulthood.

We work with very vulnerable and marginalized young people such as:

  • Teen aboriginal moms
  • 14 to 19-year-olds who are in foster care
  • 19 to 28-year-olds who have been in foster care
  • Homeless moms who are being discharged from the BC Women’s Hospital Fir Square Ward--a dedicated pre-natal and post-natal care ward for moms recovering from alcohol and drug addiction
